How it works
Immune Boost is based on a Chinese herbal formula called Gui Pi Tang, used to treat anxiety, insomnia, and various mood disorders that may be accompanied by irregular heart function. The formula also addresses underlying weak digestive function, and various bleeding disorders.
Studies on mice have demonstrated a preventative effect on stress-induced gastric ulcers, and improved cognitive function.
One of the primary herbs, Radix Astragali has been shown to have antibacterial, antiviral, tonic, immunostimulant anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, diuretic, vasodilator and hypotensive actions. Another, Semen Ziziphi Spinosae has been shown to have sedative, hypotensive and analgesic actions. Arillus Longan is high in organic Iron, and is an excellent general tonic as well as mild sedative.
In dogs, this formula is used for various forms of anaemia, haemolytic and platelet disorders, usually in conjunction with pharmaceutical medications. In horses, it is effective for chronic nasal bleeding.
