    • How it works

      How it works

Old Age Care is based on a Chinese herbal formula called Shen Qi Wan, used to treat various signs and symptoms occurring as a result of aging, weak kidney function or inability to generate sufficient body heat. The formula has anti-aging and immuno-stimulant effects, as well as regulatory effects on the endocrine and reproductive systems.

This formula is commonly used in the treatment of late-stage type I diabetes, Addison’s disease in dogs, hypothyroidism in middle-aged to older dogs, urinary incontinence and dribbling in geriatric dogs, and chronic renal failure in cats. Human clinical studies and research support the use of this formula in the treatment of diabetes mellitus, hypertension, lumbago, male and female infertility and urinary incontinence.

      Traditional understanding

This formula treats deficiency of Kidney Yang, which can be seen as the source of warmth, metabolic activity and driver of physiological process in the lower parts of the body. The Kidney Yang is also responsible for regulating fluid metabolism. By strengthening the Kidney Yang, we are warming and energising the body, and supporting normal physiological processes, especially of the kidneys and urinary bladder.
