How it works
How it works
Tremor Ease is based on a Chinese herbal formula called Tian Ma Gou Teng Yin, used to treat symptoms of excessive heat or pressure in the head, such as may occur when blood pressure is raised. In severe cases, brain function is affected.
Studies on dogs have demonstrated a regulatory effect on blood pressure – reducing blood pressure in dogs with hypertension, but not affecting those with normal blood pressure. The formula is also used in humans with hypertension, and human clinical studies and research support the use of this formula in cases of epilepsy, dizziness, facial spasm, and post-stroke. Individual herbs in this formula have been shown to have antihypertensive, sedative, vasodilator, antispasmodic and anticonvulsive effects.
Traditional understanding
This formula works by 'sedating the Liver Yang'. In TCM, many cases of hypertension-related symptoms and seizure disorders can be explained as an excess of the 'Liver Yang' causing a stirring and rising of 'Liver wind'. The herbs are calming, cooling, sedating, and also assist to build and strengthen the Liver blood and Yin, to help balance the physiology and prevent recurrence.
Combinations
For severe hypertension or concurrent cardiovascular disease, combine with Cardiovascular Support 1
